So, when I was little I used to dream a lot about having the ability to record myself singing every single day. A passion of mine since I was 7, the most I really got to view were the shaking hands of someone’s uncle in the back trying not to cough for my blurry 15 minutes on stage of whatever musical theater show I was currently doing, a VHS that didn’t land in my hand for a good 4 months after the performance was wrapped.
My house now has: 2 iPhones, 1 iMac, two MacBooks & 14 cameras in it, and I haven’t recorded myself singing anything in 3 months.
Shame. On. Me. Seriously.
It’s not that I don’t sing every day, or play every day. I just never think to share it, even though that’s one of the parts that I enjoy the very most about making music.
In order to rectify this, I bring you the first performance of Music Monday: Serling, a song that I wrote last year, performed by my band, hindu doggie.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
I’m really happy to bring you a Style Sunday with one of my favorite brands in LA: Elohssa, in one of my favorite places in LA: Venice! I’d love to say that strolling around Venice Boardwalk with Raelie is a dream come true…
but I never even dared to dream of being this happy.

So, back when I was styling on this baby:
I used to talk to the guys at Elossha a lot… A Cycling group at it’s core, Elohssa has emerged into a potluck of likeminded and amazing artists, musicians, friends & bikers. A community that’s really welcoming, loving, fun & friendly! Strolling around Venice with J and Raelie, bare face naked (how me – and my skin– prefer me to be!) the other day, I wore a pair of their awesome shades to help save me from blindness!
We finally found just where we belonged… 🙂

Happy Saturday! Me & Raelie say “What’s up?” from Venice Beach!
What a productive week!
I’ve had a bunch of meetings with acting, modeling and talent agencies to secure one that is willing to work strongly with me on my goals. I’ve gotten some wonderful feedback which I appreciate immensely, met some remarkable people, signed a few contracts and still have a few meetings scheduled before I’m ready to announce who I’ll be working with, but I am VERY excited to say the least so far!
I’ve been singing my little heart out on some new tracks for hindu doggie, American Plugs & writing my little heart out for a follow up song/video for Visual Exchange while gathering super talented musicians to work on some new tunes. I’m excited for you guys to hear it all!
I’ve had a lot of phone conversations to secure ecofriendly and organic brands for the Around the World Lookbook, and packages have been coming in droves with absolutely beautiful (seriously, I am absolutely speechless at the quality and thought that goes into these pieces!) eco conscious, handmade & organic brands! I’ll be teaming up with another couple of blogs to bring you more Organic Life, which has been a goal of mine since before I can remember. I really love spreading the love!
All very exciting news, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I’ve been saying my Positive Mantras and kissing the ground, believe me! 🙂
But meeting after meeting has been rough on me, and the travel from my secure little House in the mountains down to Hollywood for meetings, casting, & music has been rough on my skin. I’m really not used to wearing makeup, the whole of what I do wear is minimal, and my skin has a tendency to dry out, flake, and crack in the sun if not tended to properly ( or if makeup is left on it for say, hours at a time… which just happens to be a huge part of my job :P). Combine that with Los Angeles’s striking 75 degree March weather a week after coming home from New York, and you’ve got a Beauty Blast! 🙂

I am super excited to share My Organic Garden with you today.
It’s been a long journey. I touched on it a little bit in this post, but my half-attempt at growing edible plants on a windowsill at my first apartment in LA was… half good, half pathetic. I give myself an A for effort!
Everything would die by the time it got to the point of being edible specifically because I had no where to plant it, and after a few massive losses, I convinced myself (like we tend to do) that I was no good at gardening.
This brings me to the House. It took about a month of settling in here (and waiting for Winter to pass) before I realized that I had a ton of good soil to work with and all I needed was a big imagination (thanks, Pinterest, for all your inspiration!)
The idea that I could be self-sustaining in my nutrition plan was a good one, rooted with deep and great intentions… but the question was: could I pull it off? I live right by the LA forest, just on the cusp of where things go from Green to Brown and you begin to remember that Los Angeles is a desert that we saturate with millions of gallons of water to pretend it’s a paradise. This worried me a bit. Another look at all my neighbor’s plants: mostly cacti and hardy trees, and I knew I’d need a bit more than a prayer to pull this off.
So, to my surprise, not only have my plants grown.. they’ve taken off! I have now more than 30 different varieties of edible herbs, flowers, fruits & veggies growing in my garden and in pots along the sides of my house.
To give you an idea, here are my new beans a week ago…

If I didn’t have time, stamped and dated photographic evidence, I literally would not believe it.
Some other things I’ve had the opportunity to grow:
This Spinach is the tastiest, most delicious and fresh I’ve ever had. 🙂
I’ve also gotten a few wonderful surprises… I planted squash and pumpkin back here a few weeks ago.
Not only have I dug up this spot numerous times to compost and plant other things, the seedlings (not one or two, but almost 5 now) have begun to grow in the garden despite the fact that it’s neither the season, the time, and that now I have at least 5 pumpkins I need to make room for! 🙂
I really can’t believe that these used to just be a little bag that said “Fava Beans” on it!

Rian got super inspired and turning an old wind piano into a garden bed. It lives at my house and it’s grown SO much since he brought it over!
I love “adopting” plants for people who don’t feel like they have quite the time to take care of them! The progress is so rewarding!
So, so, SO excited for Strawberries!
I started using my compost pile to grow these peas and they shot up! This is all ONE pea plant! I am pretty dumbfounded.

The experience of having, nurturing, and feeding myself from my organic garden has been immensely rewarding, completely satisfying and really gratifying.

She in black cheap draped dress, some apricot duty suffocated. she liked nervous Francis silent. she had eavesdroppers appearing to the dusky snow.
Some dusty mingling feeling, and one perceptive girl.
” Sorry, ” she says, slightly breaking New York.
” Heaven has rooms and prefers New York to you, Ellen.”
I smiled under his manner, a visitor running dressed tonight, a fond admiration,
affection looking last up at the throat
and feeling confused.
