One Stop Shop!

Were-open-sign

Hey lovelies,

Probably one of the most frequent questions I receive on my blog are what my favorite products are, and where you can get them.

We’ve been hard at work and we now officially set up a shop on the site!

You can browse my favorites, shop my personal collection or take advantage of discounts that are JUST for The Organic Life readers.

Enjoy, and let me know what you think about the shop in the comments!

I always love hearing feedback so we can make improvements for awesome readers like you.

One of my favorite hobbies is traveling.  Now that I have the Chevy Volt, I can zip around just about everywhere with little environmental impact, which feels so great!

I absolutely adore this travel bag for these spontaneous trips.  It fits just about everything – from my hunky camera to my crystals, jewels, wallet, essential oils and books!  It’s so wonderfully lightweight and the design and colors are eye-catching and beautiful.

The fact that it’s upcycled and local is a green beauty dream and definite perk!  🙂

In 2012, brothers Alec and Aric Avedissian founded RAREFORM. By intercepting billboards before they reach the landfills, RAREFORM is able to create unique, upcycled bags.  Even better, RAREFORM currently manufactures its products locally in California and has joined Patagonia in donating 1% of its sales to benefit the planet.

RAREFORM is based in Santa Monica, California and manufactures the finest quality backpacks, bags, and accessories.

RAREFORM approaches each day as a learning opportunity, a chance to let good run wild.

This dress From The Yacht Club has been a serious comfortable favorite lately!  Perfect for San Diego’s warm weather and day trips.

It finally rained!! Not just for a few minutes, either! For days and days! If you’re not aware, Southern California’s been in the middle of very severe drought pretty much since I moved here. We’ve been begging, praying, dancing and hoping for rain for months and months!

I missed the rain. Although I do have to combat gloomy days with natural remedies because I suffer from a severe and very real case of SAD (a post on this soon to come!), I adore the rain. It means new life, new adventure, and that beautiful, calming sound that rocked me to sleep oh-so-many nights that I lived in New York.  Rain is refreshing, cooling and renewing.  It’s awakening.

I love how green it makes everything around here. There are so many wonderful little lush, peppermint coloured spots where I am used to brown, sandy landscapes. Raelie loves it too! You know I’m a travel junkie, and the rain gives us both a great space to escape to gorgeous free spaces that are normally crowded. Rainy days are when people around here stay in: but not us! We love this opportunity to explore the diverse and wonderful parks, trails and beaches along the Pacific coast.

We took this opportunity to shoot for I AM U Collective, Free Endearment as well as Synergy, Serei Clothing + some of my favorite companies for accessories + shoes.  I’ve been carrying my Diana Dreamer with me everywhere, capturing my experiences on my favorite: 120 film! I’ve adored using film since I was a little girl, and I’m not giving it up any time soon.  Everything from the little raindrops to the big, swaying palm trees were all a treat to capture this stormy weekend!

California continues to astound me. She has such beautiful, magical landscapes. I get a true sense of delight and wonder from exploring the mountains. as well as the sea scape. Exploration has such an incredibly dear place in my heart because there just are no limits.  After being sick for so, so long, the ability to adventure anywhere and see just about anything in this gorgeous state makes my heart burst.  It tickles my soul, opens my eyes. I always feel like the paths I take choose me, instead of me choosing them.  I feel healthy, free, fresh, and child-like. I feel empowered and wonderful.

In my suburban childhood backyard, I often pretended that I was in the middle of huge fields, atop gigantic mountains, with nature as far as the eye could see. I had a particularly vivid flashback during this particular shoot for Treacherous Minx and Pastel Mint, which reminded me of a game I used to play with my neighbor when I was younger than six. We explored the jungle (aka our backyards – which collectively actually gave us some space!) until we “came by a snake” – which always either ended or derailed the game. “ Snake! Snake!” my little neighbor would scream, then hurriedly suggest we play jumprope or tag.

On this particular hike for the shoot, we did come across a snake!  A rattlesnake greeted us on our trial, and though he found shelter not long after spotting us, we turned around post-haste (because not being able to see him was kinda scarier than seeing him!)

It brought me right back to being a kid again; a feeling I had been missing a lot lately. It was then I remembered that the landscape, the weather, the beautiful scenery in front of me was something I had imagined again and again and again in my play as a kid: and here it was in front of me! It really made me smile.  I felt an immense self of fulfillment, accomplishment and empowerment.  I’ve carried this feeling with me throughout the last few days.

How do you feel about coincidences?  Or fate?  Do you think what we think of as a child tends to manifest, or is it all up to us?

I’d love to hear your thought in the comments!

Yoga is an every day part of my life. I use it to combat arthritis, scoliosis, nausea, anxiety and a host of other ailments – and it always does the trick!

I’m always looking for some new active wear that fits my lifestyle as well as my body. I adore the messages from these two companies: Prism Sport & The Yacht Club.  The styles are chic, beautiful and carefully curated.  Most of all, they’re super comfortable!

I love wearing the Prism Galaxy Leggings and Sports Bra – they’re stylish, and perfect for my workout routine because they’re super flexible and breathable.  The Colorado Sunset hoodie from The Yacht Club not only stands out – it’s great for either hanging or working out!

Our mission is to inspire the world to love what you do and do what you love.

Our lives are active, our personalities vibrant and our outlook bright.
They’re qualities we bring to our work, our families and our sport.

Why not our activewear?

Our goal is to bring people together to experience something so much greater than the individual through the intangble ships of Life; Friend-Ships, Relation-Ships, Partner-Ships & Fellow-Ship.

We’re all in the same boat.

“Do what you love and love what you do.”
