“I’m simply saying that there is a way to be sane. I’m saying that you can
get rid of all this insanity created by the past in you. Just by being a simple
witness of your thought processes.

It is simply sitting silently, witnessing the thoughts, passing before you.
Just witnessing, not interfering not even judging, because the moment you
judge you have lost the pure witness. The moment you say “this is good, this
is bad,” you have already jumped onto the thought process.

It takes a little time to create a gap between the witness and the mind. Once
the gap is there, you are in for a great suprise, that you are not the mind, that
you are the witness, A watcher.

And this process of watching is the very alchemy of real religion. Because as
you become more and more deeply rooted in witnessing, thoughts start
disappearing. You are, but the mind is utterly empty.

That’s the moment of enlightenment. That is the moment that you become for
the first time an unconditioned, sane, really free human being.”

TGIF!  I have been dying to share these photos from Mexico with you all!  There are certain pieces out there where you can really just feel the love put into them!  The feel, the texture, of an accessory really just speaks to you and you’re tempted to wear it constantly.  I’ve found great protection in this handmade necklace and these fantastic handcrafted bracelets from iamto’b!   I almost never gravitate towards chunky accessories, or long necklaces, but honestly, I am totally in love with them.  There’s something so aesthetically pleasing to me about them!  I’ve really started to surprise myself with how much I’ve opened up to sustainable & different ideas about fashion!

I’ve been taking a lot of time out lately for self care, which I must say has been helping so, so very much to put me in a strong creative place. It’s been a super inspiring week – I’ve had to look to almost nothing outside of myself to feel absolutely fulfilled.  I have a few wellness posts coming up that I think have helped put ME in a better place about how I am, so I really hope they help you too!

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful week!

Thank you very much.

Feeling is the language, the forgotten language. If you understand feeling, you understand the whole.

lt is said of Luqman, one of the wisest men ever born — he is the founder of Yunani medicine — that he would go to plants, to bushes and trees, sit there, feel them, and ask them, “What use can you be put to? What disease can you be helpful in?” It is said that he discovered millions of herbs, just by feeling them. The herb would say, “It will be good if you use me in tuberculosis; I can help.”

This looks like a myth, fiction. But scientists have been at a loss: if this is a fiction, then how did Luqman come to know?

Because whatsoever he knew has been proved by all scientific experiment to be right. And no laboratories such as exist today existed then; not such refined instruments, not at all! If this is a fiction, then a greater problem arises: How did he come to know? And not one or two or a hundred herbs…millions! If he had been experimenting with crude implements then it would have taken at least ten to twenty thousand years for him to discover all that. That seems to be more fictitious. The first fiction seems to be nearer reality…

that he asked.

There is the same story in India also. Ayurveda, the Indian medicine, is based on the same secret. Those secrets were revealed by the plants themselves. But then a language is needed, a language which is universal and not local to humanity.

Feeling is that language. Greek or Arabic or Sanskrit won’t do. No language originating in the mind is divine language. No, the divine language originated in the heart. Feeling is the language.

If you start really feeling, and your heart starts really throbbing with feeling, you can ask a tree, and a tree is always ready to reveal it’s secret. You can ask a bird, and the bird is ready to reveal it’s secret. You can ask existence, and existence is ready to reveal it’s heart.

Style Sunday: Your Soul’s Role

I’ve been on the hunt for good, comfortable, sustainable & stylish Yoga clothes for ages.  Even though I practice in the comfort of my own home (and honestly, I’m not the biggest clothes person – if you know what I mean), that only goes so far when you’re traveling and still need to do some healthy routines, and can’t really do so in your skivvies or your birthday suit! 😉Image

Soul Role, a Hawaiian based Organic & Sustainable, Eco-Friendly apparel company, was kind enough to make me some custom-fit Yoga attire – including two pairs of shorts (in black & brown), 2 headbands (for those Bikram days) & a super comfortable and flexible shirt!  I’m really in love with how wearable, comfortable and just plain CUTE they are!!   They’re also made in a sun & wind powered studio off the grid in Hawaii!  How cool is that?!  You can feel the Aloha in every stitch! 🙂

This has really gotten me into a wonderful “Sun Salutation” routine in the morning, where I do long breathing exercises on top of squats and lunges!  I feel much better, can breathe better after only two weeks of a consistent routine, and my behind feels… well… firm! Sometimes you just need the right clothes to get you in the mood to change your whole life!  Who knew? 🙂
